General Keg information:
How long will a keg of beer last?
Oxygen is the natural enemy of beer. If you use a hand operated pump, the life of the tapped keg is 72 hours or less. If you use a CO2 pressurized air system, your beer will remain fresh for up to 90 days.
What else do I need to serve beer from my keg?
The basic set up consists of a $30 keg deposit, refundable upon return of the keg; a $20 rental fee for the hand-pump tap and keg bucket and $5 for 55 pounds of ice (an $18 value and is enough ice to keep a half-barrel keg chilled for 12 hours indoors).
